Through our partnerships, Oxford BioTherapeutics has access to three of the world’s most advanced
antibody technologies. We are now leveraging these agreements to generate therapeutic antibodies
for the treatment of cancer
Oxford BioTherapeutics has broad access to Medarex’s UltiMAb Human Antibody Development System®.
Medarex generates fully human antibodies in mice that have human gene sequences in place of the
normal mouse antibody genes. Fully human antibodies are acknowledged as the next generation of
antibody biologics. With Medarex, we are developing these advanced therapeutics against cancer
targets that have been discovered and evaluated through our proteomics platform
Oxford BioTherapeutics diagnostics collaboration with Biosite provides provides OBT with a further
source of high-quality antibodies. Biosite, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Inverness Medical Innovations,
has an impressive capability in antibody development, featuring such technologies as Omniclonal® and
Transphage® These systems generate very large numbers of antibodies in a high throughput manner,
combining a high-affinity selection process with the rapidity and diversity of phage display technology.
Oxford BioTherapeutics is thus able to obtain antibodies against our cancer targets with superior
binding characteristics
Oxford BioTherapeutics has a co-development agreement with Amgen, which utilizes Xenomouse® technology
to produce fully human antibodies against targets provided by Oxford BioTherapeutics. Xenomouse® adds
a further source of fully human antibodies to Oxford BioTherapeutics’ top quality technology access
portfolio.
